ITL North East Limited founder Grace Tia Bon Bon and her team speak about the importance of visiting schools to spark interest in language learning and it being a great way to help young minds build confidence, broaden their horizons and attract attention from employers.
In an effort to promote language learning and encourage more students to consider learning a language our team visited schools throughout the North Tyneside region. This activity is in support of The ‘World of Work’ or WOW, a career initiative organised by the North Tyneside Learning Trust throughout schools in North Tyneside region from March to July 2023.
ITL North East Limited is the language contractor of North Tyneside Council and in solidarity with North Tyneside Learning Trust (NTLT) and as a social value commitment, Grace Tia Bon Bon, presented to students of Longbenton High School and Churchill Community College about the benefits of studying foreign languages.
The aim was to inspire young people to take an interest in languages and to consider the many opportunities available to those who can speak multiple languages fluently.
"Interpreting is a fascinating and rewarding career that allows you to use your language skills to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds," said Grace Tia Bon Bon to the year 10-15 students at Churchill Community. Some of the students said that they wanted to be a national football player, or a tattoo artist and one said that she wanted to become a dentist to support her mother financially. And one other student raised his hand and said my dad is Norwegian.
