 ITL (North East) Limited

Publication date:04/09/2024

Update date: 08/04/2026

Commitment to achieving Net Zero
ITL North East Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2023
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

ITL North East Limited has not previously assessed or reported emissions. However, as part of our commitment to monitor and review our carbon footprint, we are providing the following report. The 2023 emissions report below will serve as the baseline for future monitoring.

Baseline year emissions:

 Emissions  Total (tCO2e)
 Scope 1  8.1
 Scope 2  2.1

 Scope 3

(Indirect emissions including business travel & employee commutes/transport)

 11.87
 Total Emissions  22.07

Current Emissions Reporting - Reporting Year:2025

 Emissions  Total (tCO2e)
 Scope 1  2.1
 Scope 2  0.71

 Scope 3

(Indirect emissions including business travel & employee commutes/transport)

 5.20
 Total Emissions  8.01

The following Scope 3 categories have been included in accordance with PPN 06/21 requirements:

  • Category 4 – Upstream transportation and distribution: Not applicable, as no physical goods are transported
  • Category 5 – Waste generated in operations: Includes general office waste within a shared office environment
  • Category 6 – Business travel: Limited and minimised through use of office-based communication systems
  • Category 7 – Employee commuting: Includes commuting via private transport and public transport
  • Category 9 – Downstream transportation and distribution: Not applicable, as no goods are distributed

Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets for the next five years.

Scope 1: 5.5%

Scope 2: 3%

Scope 3: 10%

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 4.80 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of approximately 40%.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2023 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equates to 14.6 tCO2e, a 63% reduction against the 2023 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

These measures include:

  • Arranged contract review meeting with customers via Teams rather than in person reducing travel/car emissions
  • Use of energy-efficient LED lighting systems
  • Use of telephony and office-based systems to deliver services efficiently without requiring additional travel
  • Use of energy-efficient IT equipment
  • Encouragement of sustainable commuting practices, including public transport
  • Operation within a shared office environment to minimise energy usage
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Transitioning to renewable electricity tariffs where available within the serviced office arrangement
  • Improving accuracy of emissions measurement through collection of actual energy usage data
  • Encouragement of sustainable commuting practices, including public transport use and the planned introduction of a Cycle to Work scheme
  • Reviewing suppliers to prioritise environmentally responsible services and partners
  • Assessing inclusion of additional Scope 3 emissions categories, including purchased services (e.g. freelance interpreters)
  • Investigating further energy efficiency improvements in office equipment and usage patterns

By implementing these strategies, we aim to significantly reduce our carbon emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future.
